Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken with BBQ sauce until well-coated. Adjust the amount of sauce based on your preference.
- On one side of each bread slice, spread a thin layer of butter to ensure a crispy exterior.
Assembly and Grilling
- On the unbuttered side of one slice of bread, layer half of the cheese, followed by the BBQ chicken mixture, then the remaining cheese.
- Top with the second slice of bread, butter side up.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and place the sandwich in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bread is golden brown.
- Carefully flip the sandwich and grill the other side for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese melts.
Serving
- Once both sides are crispy and the cheese is gooey, transfer the sandwich to a cutting board. Let it cool for 1-2 minutes before slicing in half. Serve immediately.
Notes
Pair with crispy sweet potato fries or a fresh side salad. For a drink, iced tea or lemonade complements the flavors well.
