Preparation
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice of bread, butter side down, onto the hot pan.
- Layer mozzarella cheese over the bread, then add tomato slices, a sprinkle of salt, and fresh basil.
- Top with another slice of bread, buttered side up, and gently press down.
Cooking
- Cook for 2-3 minutes until golden, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown and melty.
- Let it sit for a minute, slice, and enjoy the cheese pull.
Notes
For the best result, go low and slow while cooking to avoid burnt bread and unmelted cheese. Use firmer bread to avoid sogginess. Add a swipe of pesto or balsamic glaze for extra flavor.
