Ingredients

Filling
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup Alfredo sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 package pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
Optional Garnish
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped For garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness. Cut the dough into circles, about 6 inches in diameter.
Assembly
  1. Take a generous scoop of filling and place it on one half of each dough circle. Leave space at the edges to seal.
  2. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and crimp the edges tightly with a fork.
Cooking
  1. Brush the tops of the calzones with the beaten egg.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes. Cook the calzones in batches for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Once slightly cooled, garnish with chopped parsley and serve with extra Alfredo sauce or marinara for dipping.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, substitute the pizza dough. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer.
