Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour Spoon and level for accurate measurement.
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 tsp cotton candy flavoring (or extract) Optional, but recommended for the signature flavor.
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Decoration
  • 1 cup cotton candy-flavored sprinkles For decoration.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the cotton candy flavoring, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the cotton candy sprinkles until evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Use a cookie scoop or spoon to drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  3. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze dough for fresh cookies anytime!
