Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- If using a frozen pie crust, follow package instructions for pre-baking it slightly to prevent it from getting soggy.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until well blended.
- Gradually stir in the whole milk, mixing until the custard is well combined and smooth.
- Carefully pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie crust.
- If desired, sprinkle ground nutmeg over the top.
Baking
- Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the custard is set and slightly jiggly in the center.
- Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing.

Notes
Store leftovers covered with plastic wrap in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Can be served cold or gently reheated in a 300°F (150°C) oven for about 10-15 minutes.
