Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the spaghetti squash: Cut the squash in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds. Place the squash cut-side down on a baking sheet and roast in the oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until the flesh is tender.
- Scrape the squash with a fork to create strands and transfer them into a large mixing bowl.
Combining Ingredients
- Stir in the marinara sauce, half of the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Baking
- Spread the mixture evenly in a greased baking dish. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
Serving
- Garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve hot!
Notes
Use a sharp knife when cutting the spaghetti squash as it can be tough. You can prepare the dish a day in advance and store it in the fridge. Feel free to customize toppings like sautéed mushrooms or bell peppers for added flavor.
