Preparation
- Place your chicken thighs or breasts at the bottom of the Crockpot.
- In a bowl, combine teriyaki sauce, minced garlic, honey, rice vinegar, and ground ginger. Stir until well mixed.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken, ensuring it’s well-covered.
- If you’re including broccoli, add it on top now.
Cooking
- Cover the Crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
Serving
- When done, shred the chicken with two forks and mix it back into the sauce.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, remove the chicken about 30 minutes before the cooking time ends and let the sauce simmer with the lid off. Ingredient substitutions include using tofu or tempeh for a vegetarian option or pork instead of chicken. Ensure enough sauce is present to avoid dry chicken.
