- In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef and diced onion until the meat is fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
- Mix in minced garlic, followed by the crushed tomatoes. Stir well to combine.
- Pour in beef broth and season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
- Add the heavy cream and stir until everything is well combined.
- Toss in broken lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions, usually about 12-15 minutes, until they are al dente.
- Once the noodles are cooked, gently stir in the ricotta cheese and half of the mozzarella cheese.
- Serve hot, garnishing each bowl with more mozzarella cheese and a sprinkle of fresh basil.
Notes
Ingredient swaps can be made for a healthier version. It's recommended to cook noodles separately to prevent them from becoming too soft. Leftovers can be stored for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator or frozen for up to 3 months.
