Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour, salt, and Greek yogurt. Use a spoon or your hands to mix until a dough forms.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it gently for about 1-2 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Divide your dough into 4 equal parts. Roll each piece into a ball, then poke a hole in the middle to form a bagel shape. Stretch the hole a bit to make sure it stays open during baking.
- Place the shaped bagels onto the prepared baking sheet. If desired, brush them with an egg wash (beaten egg) and sprinkle your favorite toppings on top.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
- Allow cooling on a wire rack before enjoying them fresh. They are fabulous toasted!
Notes
Don't overmix the dough to keep your bagels light and fluffy. If you don't have self-rising flour, you can combine all-purpose flour with baking powder and salt. Feel free to experiment with flavors by adding spices, herbs, or cheese.
