- Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink.
- Carefully flip the shrimp, then add the red pepper flakes (if using), broth, and lemon juice. Cook for another 2 minutes until fully cooked.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the fresh parsley. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper as needed.
- Serve the scampi over cooked pasta, garnished with additional parsley and a lemon wedge.
Notes
Use large shrimp for a better bite and ensure not to overcook them. Fresh garlic and parsley provide the best flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days, reheating gently on low heat.
