- Place chicken breasts at the bottom of your crock pot. Do not dice or slice.
- In a separate bowl, combine ranch dressing mix, cream of chicken soup, and chicken broth. Whisk until smooth.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken to ensure it's well covered.
- Add softened cream cheese on top of the sauce.
- Cover the crock pot, set it to low, and cook for 6-8 hours, or on high for about 4 hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Once cooked through, shred the chicken using two forks for a saucy consistency.
Notes
For best results, avoid skipping the cream cheese as it gives the dish a rich creamy texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat gently adding a splash of chicken broth if desired.
